Geylang is often associated with some of the seedier parts of Singapore. Well known for the night markets during Ramadan when the streets are full of bazaars and stalls selling Malay delicacies. Many of the side streets are home to small temples and associated clan houses. Some famous cafes can be found there selling local dished like Frog Porridge and Beef Hor Fun. There are also some 24 hour stores selling durians which the locals love.
